Following the merger on 1 July, Moore Stephens in Queensland will have around 235 staff across seven offices throughout Queensland including Townsville, Brisbane, Cairns, Tully, Innisfail, Burdekin and Toowoomba.
Mr Ken Pickard, Managing Director of Moore Stephens in Queensland said the merger will establish a unique major accounting and business advisory firm with the ability to deliver high value services across the whole state but particularly to the growing and diverse economies of South East Queensland. “We are the seventh largest firm in the state with a full range of services”, he said. “We see the merger as being particularly important for the accelerated growth of our audit division. The synergies of our expertise in the rural industries will result in enhanced opportunities in this region and across Queensland,” he added.
“An additional bonus is the excellent fit between the Fowler Board practice and the Moore Stephens operations across the state,” Mr Pickard said. “Fowler Board is an excellent business with an impeccable reputation built up over 104 years. This will give us the scale to build on Moore Stephens’ excellent regional network, knowledge and expertise.
“And, or course, we also have access to the outstanding Moore Stephens network in Australia and
around the world which aligns with the developing international focus within the Toowoomba region. This means we can further assist businesses in the region to grow and develop beyond regional Queensland,” Mr Pickard said.
“The merger is an important step in our regional growth strategy to provide significant additional
benefits for clients and staff in the Toowoomba region,” Mr Pickard added. “Moore Stephens is a
quality network made up of exceptional professionals. The two firms complement each other
remarkably well and this merger will boost our presence in the Toowoomba market which is highly
valued within the Moore Stephens network.”
Mr David Lethbridge, Partner of Fowler Board, said greater depth of resources and technical strength
delivered by the merger were the key drivers of the deal. “We believe the strength and depth of the
Moore Stephens network will provide us with significant opportunities to strengthen both our service
offering and the delivery of that offering to our clients,” he said.
Mr Lethbridge also highlighted the significant opportunities for training and career development for the
Fowler Board staff.
