In the context of the global economic recession, a recent survey* has found that only 57 per cent of small businesses in Australia are expecting to grow over the next few years, the lowest recorded by CPA Australia. Strong evidence indicates that many small businesses are unlikely to have access to the information they need to effectively plan for growth and therefore do not manage their businesses as well as they could.
Gaining increasing recognition as an expanding industry, the utilisation of business coaching is fast becoming a common practice as a powerful way of executive development and adding to the bottom line in business performance. This growing trend is driven by a number of key factors including:
- Adapting to rapid change
- The costs associated with poor planning and performance
- Lifelong learning and having a development tool for both business owner and staff
- Instilling an impartial and fresh perspective to renew and evolve
- the business
- Staying ahead of the competition.
- Enhanced productivity and performance
- Greater accountability
- Increased focus
- Improvements in quality
- Greater organisational strength
- Reductions in cost
- Improved bottom-line profitability
- Better team work
- Greater job satisfaction.
